Bhojpur (भोजपुर)

Tyamke Danda is a massive, celebrated mountain ridge standing at an altitude of 3,110 meters on the border of Bhojpur and Khotang districts. The ridge is revered as one of the finest viewpoints in eastern Nepal, offering a spectacular, unobstructed panoramic view of the entire central-eastern Himalayan range. The ridge is surrounded by dense forests of rhododendron and bamboo, protecting unique alpine herbs and wildlife. Trekkers can explore the quiet trails, visit local temples, and enjoy a peaceful camping experience on the vast grassy meadows of Chakhewa Bhanjyang, which serves as the primary base camp of Tyamke.

Salpa Pokhari is a highly sacred, beautiful high-altitude lake situated at an elevation of approximately 3,430 meters, bordering Bhojpur, Solukhumbu, and Sankhuwasabha districts. The lake holds deep religious significance, being revered as a sacred place of worship by Hindus, Buddhists, and Kirat communities. Bhojpur Bazaar is the historic administrative headquarters and central trading town of Bhojpur district, situated on a scenic mountain ridge at an altitude of 1,540 meters. The bazaar is characterized by traditional Newari brick architecture, narrow cobblestone streets, and a vibrant, warm local community life. The town serves as the primary commercial hub for the district, famous for its lively weekly markets where local farmers trade fresh ginger, large cardamom, and organic produce. Silichung Danda is a prominent, majestic mountain peak standing at a high altitude of 4,153 meters on the border of Bhojpur and Sankhuwasabha districts. It represents the highest peak in Bhojpur, offering some of the most spectacular, close-up panoramic views of the world's tallest mountains, including Everest and Makalu. The climb to Silichung peak is a challenging, highly rewarding trek that passes through pristine alpine meadows, glacial lakes, and rocky ridges. The peak holds deep spiritual significance in the Kirat Mundhum religion, being revered as a sacred sanctuary where ancestral spirits are believed to dwell and watch over the hills.

The Mundhum Trail is a celebrated, newly developed eco-cultural trekking route that snaking across the high ridges of Bhojpur, Khotang, and Solukhumbu. Starting from Chakhewa Bhanjyang, the trail covers an expansive forest and ridge area, being named after the sacred oral scriptures of the indigenous Kirat people. For centuries, skilled local metalsmiths have hand-forged the iconic 'Bhojpure Khukuri'—the legendary Nepalese curved knife renowned for its exceptional balance and high-carbon steel temper. The district is also famous for the 'Bhojpure Karuwa,' a beautifully designed brass water vessel characterized by its artistic floral engravings and unique pipe spout.
